Somatic Healing

Somatic Experiencing for
nervous system health through
reproductive and hormonal
change.

WHEN YOUR BODY FEELS UNFAMILIAR

The body can continue to carry the effects of fertility treatment, pregnancy loss, difficult medical experiences, birth, chronic stress, and hormonal change long after the event itself has passed. Somatic Experiencing offers a gentle, body-based way to work with what may still be present.

A BODY-BASED APPROACH TO HEALING

GREATER AWARENESS
Learn to recognize the sensations, patterns, and responses your body uses to communicate stress. Somatic work helps you notice what is happening with greater clarity and less overwhelm.

NERVOUS SYSTEM SUPPORT
Work gently with patterns connected to chronic stress, medical experiences, fertility treatment, pregnancy loss, and other difficult events, building greater capacity for regulation and recovery.

MORE CAPACITY FOR LIFE
As the nervous system becomes less consumed by stress, there can be more room for rest, connection, pleasure, movement, and the parts of life that may have felt harder to access.

IS THIS YOU?

Your symptoms seem to intensify with stress. Your body feels braced, vigilant, or unable to settle. A fertility treatment, pregnancy loss, difficult diagnosis, or birth experience still feels unresolved. Your labs do not fully explain how you feel. Medical trauma or sexual trauma has affected your connection to your body. You want care that includes nervous system regulation and embodiment alongside your physical health.

Somatic Experiencing is a trauma-informed, body-based approach to working with the nervous system.

We pay attention to sensation, activation, protective responses, embodiment, and the patterns the body may still be carrying from earlier experiences. This work can be especially relevant after pregnancy loss, fertility procedures, difficult examinations, birth experiences, medical trauma, sexual trauma, or other experiences that have left the nervous system on guard.

A GENTLE, PACED APPROACH

The work unfolds gradually and is paced to the individual. We build awareness of what is happening in the body now, creating greater capacity for regulation, connection, and ease.

Safe and Sound, Rest & Restore, flower essence therapy, and mindfulness practices may also be used when appropriate.

  • "I thought I knew what to expect from perimenopause. But when it started happening to me, I wasn't prepared for how much it would shake me."

"Angela helped me see that my nervous system was overwhelmed by the changes happening in my body, and that the anxiety wasn't a personality flaw. It was information. I started to understand my body instead of being afraid of it."

  • "I came to Angela because I couldn't sleep. My doctor said it was normal for my age, but I wanted to understand what was actually happening in my body."

"After about six months, I was sleeping through the night again. But what I didn't expect was how much better I felt in my marriage and at work. I went to her hoping to get my sleep back and ended up feeling more like myself than I had in years."

  • "I've built my career on being able to handle whatever comes my way. But when perimenopause hit, I couldn't think my way out of it."

"Angela's approach connected all the pieces in a way no one else had. My blood sugar is normal now. I have energy for my family and my work. But honestly, the biggest change is that I feel like a person again."
