Embodied Perimenopause
HOPE'S STORY:
I thought I knew what to expect from perimenopause. My mother had gone through it, my older sister too. But when it started happening to me, I wasn’t prepared for how much it would shake me.
The anxiety came out of nowhere. I'd always been calm under pressure, the person everyone leaned on. Suddenly I was lying awake at night with my heart pounding, worried about things that had never bothered me before. I felt like the ground had shifted and I couldn't find my balance.
I had seen Angela years ago when we were trying to grow our family, and she helped me through that chapter. So I reached out again, this time looking for coaching, someone who could help me navigate what felt like an identity crisis as much as a physical one. I enrolled in the Embodied Perimenopause program.
Angela helped me see that my nervous system was overwhelmed by the changes happening in my body, and that the anxiety wasn't a personality flaw. It was information. She taught me practices that actually landed, ways to settle myself when everything felt like too much. I started to understand my body instead of being afraid of it.
Gradually, I found solid ground again. I recognize myself now. I'm not fighting my body anymore, and that has changed everything.
