Natural Conception

Maria’s story:

I learned of Angela through my fertility specialist. I had been trying to conceive for a year and a half, and we had done several rounds of IUI and were beginning IVF. Acupuncture was suggested as a complement to IVF.

At that point, I was willing to try anything. I wasn’t nervous to try acupuncture, but I was surprised to meet someone as knowledgeable as Angela.

I met Angela for the first time when I was beginning my IVF cycle. I was feeling overwhelmed and scared. Angela allowed me to speak openly about my feelings about the treatment and my experience overall. This communication and encouragement of expression was missing in my conventional medical treatments. The doctors did not take the time to address the emotional and psychological aspects of the experience. Instead they were very clinical about the whole process and, as a result, I felt detached from it.

Angela allowed me to open myself up to the journey.

She provided me with meditation tools and emotional support throughout the process. These intangible elements were at least as important as the acupuncture treatments themselves. After a miscarriage from the IVF, I returned to Angela for acupuncture. This time I decided to work solely with Angela and not undergo any clinical treatments for a few months. I went on the elimination diet for a few weeks and continued weekly acupuncture treatments.

During my next cycle, I became pregnant.

I continued the acupuncture throughout my pregnancy. Angela counseled me on my birthing options and helped to prepare me for birth and motherhood. I have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl. Angela has been a tremendous gift to me. She is an incredible resource and is extraordinarily compassionate. Not only was I able to become pregnant, but with her help, I felt I had the wherewithal to confidently take charge of my body and not just be a passive patient. Angela is truly gifted and seems meant to do this work.
