I believe that when stress is not metabolized fully it can lead to auto-immune and fertility issues like the ones I have experienced first-hand.

An injury brought on by a stressful thirty-year career in journalism led me to acupuncture as a patient. The experience was so profound and the healing so significant that it inspired me to question just about everything in my life, including the way I was being of service in my career.

After taking a course at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California I became immersed in Shamanism and founded The New York Shamanic Circle. This then led to me leading women in sacred circles with a focus on ceremony and ritual. It’s something I still do today and find it immensely rewarding. It’s through these women’s circles that I first began to feel drawn to helping women navigate rough patches in their lives.

My desire to help women heal more deeply and support them through challenging life moments led me to study Chinese Medicine.

Today, in my work as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and board-certified and licensed acupuncturist, I look at each woman as unique. It’s something we all do at Fifth Avenue Fertility Wellness. No two patients are alike. We don’t just say it, we practice it. It means that all of my treatments are tailored to the individual patient and are focused on what I consider the holy trinity of patient care: mind, body and spirit.

I pride myself in being everywhere my patients need me to be as I offer acupuncture support for patients on-site before their transfer process. If a patient in my care can destress and leave her treatment feeling relaxed and cared for, then I have been successful.

When I’m not guiding and supporting women on their fertility journey I enjoy music, classic movies, taking classes, and getting out in nature with my Australian Shepherd, Rowan.
